Students will creating an original song about the assigned energy topic.
Report cards go home on Wednesday. Please sign and return to homeroom teacher by Friday.
Still have 32 students who have not scores “100″ on United States Map.
They will retake until they do.

Bring canned goods all week for families in need. Students receive “100″ in place of their lowest daily grade in any class. Up to five “100′s”

Redemption Day—Students will redeem Blue Sheets if not used during six weeks—lowest daily grade become a 100. Also add bonus points to lowest daily grade. Give students new Blue Sheet for 3rd six weeks.

Students will learn about the five geographic regions of the United Stated using a certain website. They will also prepare a mini-poster using certain computer skills. Students will go to the computer lab for their technology lesson for the 2nd six weeks.
1) Students will be placed with a partner.
2) They will label a map of the geographic regions of the U.S.
3) Students will visit a website—
www.dembsky.net/regions
This website has information about the five geographic regions of the U.S. The students will work with their partners to complete a scavenger hunt of questions about the regions of the U.S. They are to complete at least 3 of the 5 regions.
4) After the students have completed the scavenger hunt, they will create a one page min-poster or sign encouraging tourists to come to the region they chose. The students will practice the following skills to complete the mini-poster. (Daily Grade)
• Selecting a text
• Selecting a font
• Selecting a size
• Alignment
• Page Orientation
• Printing
A packet of instructions will be available at each computer giving step by step instructions on how to perform the above mentioned computer skills. Teacher will also be helping students will the above skills.
[The students will have two days to complete the computer technology lesson.]
Wednesday

(10) Students will be evaluated over their knowledge of the 50 U.S. States.
[There will be a substitute since teacher will be preparing the Veteran’s Day Program.]
1) U.S. 50 States Test #3. (Major Grade)
[Students who have not made a 100 on U.S. 50 States Test #1 will take this test.]
Names will be on tests to help substitute.
2) In class work-hand out Regions of the United States Assignment. (Daily Grade) Paper is to be completed in class after the U.S. 50 States Test #3. [Students should hand in at the end of the period completed or not.]
3) Work on homework for week– A Physical Map: North America Assignment.
Friday

The students will participate in a Veteran’s Day Program and learn about the different wars in which the U.S. veterans have been involved. [Periods 1 & 2 will not meet due to Veteran’s Day program.]
Veteran’s Day Lesson
1) Take up homework for week–A Physical Map: North America Assignment. Hold homework until next week. Periods 1 & 2 will turn in on Monday, Oct. 15.
2) Hand out Veteran’s Day Notes. Discuss & complete notes about American Wars.
Students will be reviewing elements and compounds. We will be discussing, watching a brain pop, and completing a paper over compounds.
Students will be beginning station labs today. Each lab is dedicated to showing them chemical reactions with different compounds and acids.
Students will be finish station labs today and fill in a chart about each station to turn in for a daily grade.
Begin compund tabbed booklets.
Students will continue with tabbed books, they will begin to add compounds as we discuss them.
There are not to be ANY HALLOWEEN costumes worn to school on Monday!
