January 9-13- This week will be learning about energy conservation. Students will create simple energy machines form buttons and string.
December 12-16- This week will be closing our unit on types of energy. We will do a few Christmas Labs this week. Over all the things we put on our Christmas trees that are from periodic table and make salt dough to form ornaments.

| Tuesday6 | Spin the Saltine Lab- Students will watch chemical energy in food be converted into motion. |
| Wednesday7 | Mining lab- students will see how coal is mined while using a chocolate chip cookie, they will se how coal is an enegy resourc that in moned from the Earth. |
| Thursday8 | The sun’s energy lab- students will construct a shelter from waxed paper,felt,clay,toothpicks,and foil. They will add a piece of chocolate under their shelter and shine flashlight on shelter. Then fill in paper on what happened. |
| Friday9 | Watch video over how turbines are popping up all over the world. |
We will have a quiz over physical properties,physical changes, chemical properties,chemical changes, metals, and nonmetals on Friday.
October 10-15- Monday students will have early release at 12:00
Tuesday- we will be looking at our chemical changes and recording results
Wednesday- Metals and nonmetals data tables
Thursday- Physical properties of minerals luster,metallic,vitreous,adamantine,silky,pearly, and dull
Friday– quiz over Physical and chemical changes, and non metals and metals
This week in Science, we will be learning new science words. Please ask your student what the following words mean: data, analyze,hypothesis, and classify mean. They have done three labs, ask them about it.
They will have a quiz this week over scientific method, and be learning all the tools of the lab.
This week we will be learning the scientific method. Then applying it with several labs.
August 24-26 First day we will be discussing our school theme. The rest of the week we will be getting to know each other and going over procedures and expectations. Please send signed papers in by this Friday.
